Old Bethpage, New York, USA. September 28, 2014. In the scarecrow contest, a colorful entry is a witch dressed in an orange and purple outfit with tall cornhusks coming from its sleeves and top, at the 172nd Long Island Fair, a six-day fall county fair held late September and early October. A yearly event since 1842, the old-time festival is now held at a reconstructed fairground at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. The sign next to the scarecrow asks 'Are you a good witch - are you a bad witch?'
