MAY 9, 2011 - MINEOLA, NY: Nassau County Police Officers called to scene of protest during public hearing of Nassau County Legislative proposed Redistricting. Seen from back and wearing green sweater, Ramel Smith of Hempstead holding hand over (out of view) his young son in front of him. The police officers were already in the building. Recess was called when Regis Lawrence Thompson at podium was told by Nassau County Presiding Officer Peter Schmitt that the man called to speak could not give Thompson his turn, though people had given their turn to others earlier, and Thompson refused to give up microphone. No arrests. At Nassau County Executive and Legislative Building, 1550 Franklin Avenue, Mineola, New York, USA on May 9, 2011
