Old Westbury, New York, U.S. 22nd June 2013. Dancers in Lori Belilove & The Isadora Duncan Dance Company, whirl in a circle during a dance of the Three Graces, at the Midsummer Night event at Old Westbury Gardens, throughout the illuminated grounds of the historic Long Island Gold Coast estate.
The Three Graces, or Three Charities, of Greek mythology were Aglaia, Euphrosyne, and Thalia - goddesses of beauty, joy, harmony, pleasure, grace, festivity, adornment, dance, and song. Daughters of Zeus and sea-nymph Eurynome, they were also the attendants, or handmaidens, of Aphrodite and Hera and protectors of vegetation.
